MiUI 11 Official Launch

On October 16, Xiaomi has finally announced the official MIUI 11 Global Stable update roll-out timeline on their official Twitter handle. The stable update will start rolling out from October 22 and will run up to December 26 this year. In between these days, all the eligible Xiaomi and Redmi series devices will receive the OTA update via batches.

We have shared the full update roadmap details below:


  • 22 – 31 October: POCO F1, Redmi K20, Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S, and Redmi Note 7 Pro. These phones will receive the MIUI 11 Global Stable update.
  • 4 – 12 November: Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 5. Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 lite, Redmi Y2, Redmi 4, Mi Mix 2, and Mi Max 2. These smartphones will get the global stable OTA update.
  • 13 – 29 November: Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7A Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, and Redmi Note 8 devices will get the update.
  • 18 – 26 December: Redmi Note 8 Pro model only will receive the global stable update.

Xiaomi has also mentioned that there will be more additional features or improvements available on MIUI 11. Such as Natural Sound modes, Nature Alarm tones, Gallery Monthly Viewing option, Wireless Print option, New Game Turbo Mode, New Panchang, Dual Clock, Mi Share, and Screen Casting.


Xiaomi’s own custom skin MIUI is one of the most popular and widely used ROM based on Android OS worldwide. Even the custom ROM developers have developed MIUI ROM for so many other devices as well. MIUI 10 is currently the latest and stable version offered by Xiaomi. It is much lighter and faster than its predecessor MIUI 9. Now, Xiaomi is all set to launch MIUI 11 officially and globally. MIUI 11 is a newer version and still is in the development stage. Only a few Xiaomi device models will get the Android Q update in the future but due to the custom skin, most of the Xiaomi devices will receive MIUI 11 for sure. The China-based smartphone OEM is dedicated to its MIUI updates and improvements. Though the company isn’t that fast or frequent in terms of providing the Android updates or latest security patches. Additionally, Xiaomi also mentioned that they will improve the whole UI and design than previous with visible changes like animations, themes, icons, battery mode, etc.

Xiaomi has already announced a list of the new features which will include in MIUI 11. Even some of the upcoming features will also be added in the future. First of all, MIUI 11 will bring the system-wide Dark Mode which is a native feature of Android Q. However, right now most of the apps and browsers support the dark theme and become a trend. It usually improved the low light user reading experience, saves battery a lot, and reduce eye strains.
